Who We Are

Lexoral is an independent legal transcription service operated by Brian Fino (France) and Raymond Carby-Samuels (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). We provide certified bilingual French–English transcription for legal proceedings, depositions, arbitrations, and related matters.

What Information We Process

In the course of providing our transcription services, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Audio and video recordings submitted by clients for transcription
  • Names and identifiers of parties appearing in proceedings
  • Client contact information (name, organization, email, phone)
  • Billing and invoice information
  • Correspondence related to a specific transcription mandate

We do not collect any information beyond what is necessary to fulfill the transcription mandate.

How We Use Your Information

All information submitted to Lexoral is used exclusively for the purpose for which it was provided — namely, to produce an accurate, certified bilingual transcript of the submitted recording.

We do not use client materials for any secondary purpose, including:

  • Training, machine learning, or AI development
  • Marketing or commercial profiling
  • Sharing with third parties for any purpose
  • Statistical analysis beyond internal quality control

Confidentiality & Security

Given the sensitive nature of legal proceedings, we apply strict confidentiality measures to all client files:

  • Files are transmitted via end-to-end encrypted channels only
  • Storage environments are access-restricted and password-protected
  • No file is accessible to anyone outside the transcription team
  • No recording or transcript is shared with any third party
  • All team members operate under binding confidentiality obligations

Third Parties

Lexoral does not share, sell, license, or disclose client materials or personal information to any third party, under any circumstances. We do not use third-party transcription platforms, AI services, or cloud processing services for client recordings.

Data Retention

For details on how long we retain recordings and transcripts, please see our Retention Policy. In summary:

  • Audio recordings are deleted within 30 days of transcript delivery
  • Transcripts are retained for 30 days post-delivery, then deleted
  • Immediate permanent deletion is available on written request
  • Billing records are retained for 5 years as required by law

Your Rights

Under applicable privacy law — including Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Loi 25) and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to or restrict processing of your information
  • Request portability of your data in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

Loi 25 Compliance (Quebec)

Lexoral processes information in compliance with Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25 / Loi 25). All files relating to Quebec proceedings are handled within access-controlled environments, and individuals have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal information at any time.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date of the most recent revision is indicated at the top of this page. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
